An Ode to Enthusiastic Youngsters

There’s so much to learn from the younger generation. Whenever I interact with youngsters (that is, people younger than me), I am always amazed by their ability to try out new things and look at the world with fresh eyes. I guess I draw my inspiration to do new things from these bundles of energy and enthusiasm.

From backpacking alone for almost four months in unknown territories to actively participating in CSR activities, to leading a dragon boat team, to hiking and walking for 100 kilometres, to skydiving almost every month, these young people I know as colleagues in Societe Generale- including Joy Lim, who backpacked alone in Europe, the United States, and Canada, and Lorene Latour, who does all the above mentioned activities regularly – have left me wondering if there’s anything in this world which cannot be done. The courage, the determination, and the stretch of imagination required to make these thoughts a reality make me admire these enterprising young people.

Talking to them makes my bucket list that much longer.
